Thijs, Welcome Aboard!! Great story and very nice truck and MGB. You'll find folks here will be able to help with any issue you encounter with your 1300. And in the appropriate forum (The Greasy Spoon) you might find someone that has MG experience. I may be mistaken but I believe we have a member or two in your neck of the woods.
