Jim -- Nice! One of my midshipman cruises was aboard USS Sam Rayburn (SSBN 635). I enjoyed being on the boat. For my 22nd birthday, I got to stand watch on the sail ("Fairwater") as we sortied from New London and headed out. I got to see a magnificent sunset (we were almost to the shelf by then) and then I got to sound the diving alarm klaxon. Probably my most memorable birthday ever. I would have liked subs but I was nowhere near smart enough for Nuke School.
