I believe all 1 tons had a 9' bed if it had a bed. I don't know if the wheelbase is longer, but my '48 1ton will fit a spare tire on the side without touching the fender. Other than that, the serial # should have FS in it for 1ton & a weight rating of 8800 lbs. It's hard to tell visually.
