| Crusing in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 | If the amp gauge reads neg. when you turn on the headlights with engine off, it is correct, if it reads pos., it is just backwards, switch terminals. The amp. gauge he just reads which way the current is flowing, and how much, roughly.
Volt gauge just reads how much!
