What would you estimate this dump body weighs? The body portion only, not the sub frame or hoist mechanism.
I want to remove the dump body, keep the hoist part and install a flat/stake body. Thinking of getting a gantry crane to perform the task and wonder if a 1 ton crane will be big enough.
Tag on the dump body says it's Garwood Industries, Model Number GA-2, 4 yd capacity. Approx. dimensions - 8' long - 7' wide - 2' tall
I see modern Knapheide 4yd models are in the 1,700-1,800 weight range, but have much shorter side and back rails
