It's a generator converted to 12 volt system...
The BAT terminal on the regulator goes to one terminal on the ammeter then to the starter switch and the other terminal goes to the ignition switch. From what I see in the wiring diagram it looks right although the diagram is for a 6 volt system, don't know if that makes any difference. Do you know of a better way to test the ammeter ?
Like I mentioned, the gauge is new but I just reconnected it the way the old one was. Perhaps there was nothing wrong with the one I replaced ?
