The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Interiors '41-46 Questions ... Help !

Hi folks, I'm new to these style trucks. Have and have had three '54's and one '57. Recently bought a great project that a lot of time, money and craftmanship has been spent on this awesome truck. Now it is my job to complete this project and be the caretaker until someone else takes over my job. I had been looking for a 1940 one ton or larger off and on for a few years. I'm sure some of you are in the same frame of mind ... " do I really need another project ? NO NO NO. " So, this '41 is not exactly like my grandfather's 1940 Flatbed that I drove as a 12 year old. From the inside it looks very much the same, along with a few more modern upgrades. And that is alright with me. Long story short, I have to complete the interior, assemble the front clip, and at some time in the very near future fire up this zero hour straight 6.

What I don't know is the best place to locate some of these missing parts. I pretty much know what is missing, I think. So I'm asking for help from the '41-'46 community to help me along with my education of these great old trucks.

Question #1. Can I install rear window with '46 rubber gasket because I don't have the metal molding found on the 1938-41 cabs ?
#2. I need front bumper brackets and always see them for sale for a 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton. Is there a difference for the 1-ton like mine ?

I'm sure I'll have more question as I move forward. Thanks in advance for any and all answers.
