I'm looking into what I can use for a fuel tank for my AD '47 1.5 ton. They originally had a passenger-side tank outboard of the frame rail, which won't work for me as I will be doing a (huge) pickup-style bed on mine. I also can't use a behind-the-seat tank as the '47s did not have a hole in the cab side for the filler neck... and I'm not real jazzed about drilling one in a cab this nice. That, and I'd rather have the extra room for tools, etc.
What are my alternatives? I've seen a few underbed tanks that are listed for the smaller trucks. Has anyone used them with any success? Not looking for faithful restoration, just something functional.
