1968 was the last year for 283s. Maybe it was different in California in '68, but I don't think there was much in the way of emission equipment in '68 was there?
PCV insead of vent tube. I wouldn't expect anything else. The air pumps and filter boxes and all those hoses started a few years later.
I don't have a resource for checking numbers, but I'm wondering if its not a 283?
