Greetings to all from the Midwest! About a year ago I had purchased a 53, 3600 from my employer. He was selling the company and needed to deal with it after having left it sitting in the barn since 1984. In about 1970 I had purchased a 53, 3100 with utility bed for $30 but the title turned out to be bad. I had always wanted another and was pleased when he accepted my offer of $2000. I was told it had been driven into the barn but I have not as yet been able to get it started. I retired April 1st. and so far the new owners have allowed me to store and work on it where it sits, about four blocks from my home. I have been curious about the engine. It appears to be an early 235 but wonder if it is an original babbit bearing model or a replacement. The block appears to be stamped 0061061F54Y with a raised casting of J133 to the left of the distributor. If anyone can offer and any insights it would be appreciated. I'd also like to thank the forum and its members for all the knowledge I've gleaned to this point and that I look forward to gleaning in the future. Jeff Meng aka: beenpickin
