I noticed I have the same headliner that you have!! What is that unit in the middle of the dash? Looks like a cable powered time clock? Is it a trip meter or something?

That's a speedograph. It records the time and speeds onto a disk so the company knows if you are driving too fast. All the old trucking companies used them.
