Also, not mentioned. My Carter did the same thing. Puked gas out.
I first checked pressure, it was like 3.5 psi.
Turned out it was GUNK from my gas tank ( even though I had an AC fuel pump with "filter" screen) And I cleaned out my gas tank prior.
I noticed tiny rust particals in my carburetor when I took it apart.
I ended up putting an In-Line fuel filter just below gas tank. Fixed my gas puking problem.
Carburetor purrs like a kitten now.
Just my carburetor problem & fix.
Carburetor: 966s on 1957 235 engine.
