I bought a condition unknown 235 at a flea market. A visual tells me it was probably rebuilt at one time and the top end was pretty clean. i have mounted it on a temporary stand and have soaked cylinders with marvel mystery oil. I have also lubricated valve stems and tappets. I have been able to rotate the crankshaft using a prybar against the dowells on the rear crankshaft flange. However, I continually hit a sticky spot at the same spot on the 360 degree revolution.I have continued to soak it and rotate the crank through the sticky spot. I have thought of bolting on a flywheel, bellhousing and starter that I have and seeing if it will start . The sticky spot worries me but I don't want to invest money in new parts or a ring job . I was hoping for a driver motor that had a few miles left on it My gut feeling tells me to invest in at least a gasket set. Any advice on working out the sticky spot will be appreciated.
