Had a great weekend, this was the first time I've been able to make it back up to the farm since the weekend I got the new big truck (53 6400 Two Ton).
We found half way to the farm on the first trip, that the starter wouldn't engage, so we had to pull start the truck with my father in laws old 1/2 ton. So my first plan was to replace the starter with one I had "In Stock" I found that the return spring for the lever that kicks the starter into the ring gear was broken. After I got the new starter on the truck it started right up but I could hear the starter making an odd noise until I pulled the lever and fully disengaged it. Back to my personal bone yard, ahh, a good spring in stock, gotta love it. Now that it was up and running again I made about 5 trips around the barn.
Next project, I wanted to see it dump. I picked up a new big push pull cable with a big blue "Muncie PTO" handle on it from a swap meet a month or so ago. I pulled the old broken cable out and discovered that the one I got is about 6 feet too short to reach the hydraulic pump controls. Now to find a longer cable.
Now at least I could see how it worked so I had to test the dump (The Previous Owner said it worked great, He didn't lie..) I switched the lever on the pump over and hopped back in the cab and engaged the PTO and up, up, up it went.

The Piston I've heard people refer to a single piston and a double piston setup. Is one better than the other? Is one rated for more? or are the double pistons just smaller?

Tag Had to run in the house and get everyone to come up and take a look at the truck dumped!!! Then back down and about 10 more trips around the barn and another across the field to the lake on the other side of the farm and back, I still can't quit grinning.
Also I finally measured the bed (several people had asked) it's 14ft 7inchs long and 8 foot wide.
