I am looking at purchasing a Chevy 1-1/2 ton. The appearance (waterfall grill) says it is a '46. It is titled as a '47.
It appears that the '46 style was manufactured through April of '47 and then in May '47 the "Advanced Design" trucks came on line.
My question is - how do I know if it was manufactured in 46 or 47?
I have the serial number but that doesn't give manufacture date? 216 engine has been replaced with 261.
As far as I can tell from gmheritage download the differential will give the date but no year?
Any help appreciated!
