Well i put my truck together and got it on da road in Dec 2019. 66 c20 cab and clip, 55-59 9ft stepside, 63 gmc 2500 series chassis with 11k on it. 305e, 4 speed, 4.10 replaced da 5.13s. Was a former water truck for fire dept. Anyhow, this wasnt my plan, it just happen to come together this way. Kinda thought it was going to be overkill, but wont change it now. I needed a truck to haul stuff. I was using a trailer and my tow truck b4 that. Today i took a load of stuff i was tired of tripping over to da scrap yard. 3 motors, 4 additional heads, 53 3600 rear diff, along with a couple more, varios cross members, barrell of miscellaneous scrap, 2 doors, air conditioner, wheels, etc. It ended up being just about 3k lbs. And leveled out, dropped 3 ¼ inch or so. No helper springs either. Drove, stopped and hauled great. Power to spear. I was, needless to say, impressed. Wasnt sure what to expect. I was happy da bed stayed put to boot. Guess i got that right. To me this is da difference between a work truck and a "half a truck". Ha
