I have used more professional-looking drill/tap combinations than those Mickey Mouse things. If a regular combination drill and tap device is used with a radial drill press or a Bridgeport mill with the power feed set to advance the tap at the pitch of the thread, through thin material in a production situation where dozens of holes need to be drilled and tapped, they work. I don't think I'd use the ones pictured if someone gave them to me, let alone buy them.
