I put a brothers tank in my 58. Drill holes and bolt up. The mechanical fuel pump works fine at that distance. I had trouble with a "hinge" type sending unit. Inner walls of tank were too close. 15 feet of braided fuel line was enough. I had to remove the spare tire rack.
