After 1939 when GMC released their full precision bearing inline six cylinder engine that was the engine used in the three ton Chevrolet Maple Leaf (1700 series). My three three ton Maple Leaf's are powered by GMC 248s, the two and a half ton Maple Leaf's were Chevrolet powered. The easiest way to explain a three ton Maple Leaf is two say it is a three ton GMC chassis with Chevrolet identification, front end sheet metal and grill, hope that helps. | | |
