Formica (if you buy the matte style) can be painted or covered with vinyl. That is a hint not to consider the glossy type. It is much thinner than the ABS panels, and tougher. Use heat to bend it (for the sharper bends of the headliner). No matter what on earth happens, it will not shrink nor buckle from temp changes or humidity. Think of it as very thin cast iron.
