The perches will be the same, the extra width of the 4x4 rear is outboard of the springs. The actual reason for the wider rear is because of the way the front is made. In order to use the ifs, it has to be wider than the std 2wd front because of the drive axles. If they were to be shorter to narrow up the front, there would be binding in the cv joints from the limited range of motion. That's also the reason tha front drivers have the wheels offset like they do. The wider rear on the S10 (and the '88-up fullsize) is to compensate for the extra offst required in the front. Std offset wheels will be fine on that axle for what you're doing with it, though.
