I've always used WD40 as a cylinder fogger. Probably not a good as a real fogger, but it's always convenient and available, and I've never had a problem with stored motors.
BTW, NEVER wrap an engine in plastic sheeting, visqueen, etc. Air contains moisture; plastic sheet traps it inside the engine. I've known two people who ruined engines that way. One was a Hot Rod magazine project where the builder wrapped his brand-new 351 Cleveland motor in plastic while he finished '29 Roadster; when he installed the engine and tried to start it, it was completely frozen, the cylinders were rusted beyond saving, and he had to get another new engine.
