KLHansen Thanks for offering up some tips. Forgive my ignorance with anything electrical, but could you explain further about working upstream from the headlight switch
If you're losing power, start checking for voltage at the battery, then at the starter, then at the ammeter, (working your way downstream) and when you stop getting voltage, back up one terminal and check the wire between there and the last one you checked.
When I said working upstream, you could go that way too, checking voltage at the item that isn't working, headlights in your case, and back toward the battery.
