For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! 1. dipstick length - from cup/cap down to the pointed end of the stick
2. dipstick tube length - the length of tube extending out of the block
The 1960 2-ton school bus 261 in in my 3106 (with a standard 3100 oil pan) might still have one/both of those longer parts from a 2-ton deeper oil pan.
That truck/engine lived most of its life over/above a dirt floor garage (I did not notice any significant oil drips/pools).
That truck is now in a cement floor garage - I do not drive it often.
I change the oil/filter once a year. I get a pool of clean oil on the floor (the morning after the oil change). I do not think that my wife/neighbors are playing a nasty/sick trick on me.
Thanks | | |
