Just one more comment, Mike- - - -some people don't realize that those Sun specifications are published in "distributor degrees"- - - -half what the crankshaft and pistons see because the distributor turns at 1/2 crankshaft speed. One of my earliest memories around the shop was watching Dad set up dual coil V12 Lincoln Zephyr distributors that had been modified to run flathead Ford V8 race engines- - - -actually two distributors in a single housing, each powering 4 cylinders. The 8-lobe cam from a V8 distributor was installed in the V12 housing and was reground to 4 lobes, and the coil saturation was high enough to throw a hot blue spark 3/4" long- - - -on 6 volts! An 8 volt battery would really light things up!
