i was curious if power steering could be fitted to them without major custom work as the wife will be driving it from time to time. im not too worried about stock brakes but if there are any upgrades available to make them a little better (ie: certain brand of shoes that work better/last longer, master cyl upgrades, power brake upgrade) im picking up a 55 dump not quite sure of the model # yet just wanted to make sure everything is going to be all good. crazy as it may sound im looking to hitch a gooseneck to it in order to make a 1800 mile round trip run to grab a second one of these trucks. i cannot stand the fact auto transport companies want to charge more than the truck is worth too get it home so i plan on doing it myself. but first my 55 is going to be gone through very thoroughly.

im on the east coast but where do you find replacement parts for the brake drums on these trucks? i heard general auto parts stores carry them out west but im not even sure where to look around here in the northeast.
