Look at the flange on the exhaust manifold. Does it have a flat surface or a 45 degree chamfer on the inside diameter? The exhaust pipe will have a corresponding shape, either a flat flange welded to the pipe, or a sliding flange and a cup-shaped bell in the pipe. Use whichever gasket mates with the manifold and exhaust pipe properly.
