Coilover mentioned he had used hi-temp RTV silicone on an inline engine successfully about 3 or 4 months ago when this topic came up...
It's interesting you should mention this as about one month ago a friend was ready to do this on either a 350 Chev or a 360 Jeep, but I don't recall which. It would not have occurred to me to use silicone on the exhaust manifold otherwise, and I don't think I really like the idea. Although I suppose it might work.
