Hey all, as i was digging through the forums and finding a lot of similar questions none truly answered mine, Hopefully you guys will be able to help me and others who may have the same questions.

I have a 1954 GMC 350:

#1 The data plate on the inside of the glove box door is gone am i SOL with finding out the trucks factory specs?

#2 Does anyone know the actual designation for the rear end? Everywhere i look its just referred to as "the 2 speed Vacuum rear" and that makes it really difficult to look up on the internet not knowing if people are talking about the same rear or a different one, for example the "h110" is a solid designation and you can look up info on them. Mine has 12 Bolts around the cover as viewed from behind the truck, a vacuum operated mechanism to switch between "high and low" (aka low and lower) but besides that i cant seem to find out a whole lot of info on it. Gear ratios i have seen listed so ill be counting the pinion and ring gear teeth to find out my ratios.

I also ordered the repair manual online for the GMC series trucks 100-400 hopefully that will provide a few answers, but where is everyone getting parts from to repair the rear if needed? Gaskets, seals, bearings, brake parts, axles and so on.

As always thank you everyone for the help, i really appreciate this site & all its members & the wealth of knowledge you all provide to newbies like me!
