Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 5,152 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 5,152 | I'm currently mocking up a lowered truck in my shop. I've started by setting the frame I plan to use at what I think its ride height should be based on measurements I made before the body and such was removed.
Then I blocked the running boards into that I thought was the right location and did some measuring and thinking. I ended up moving things a bit. Next I'm going to sit the cab and front fenders on it and see where that ends up.
If you figure what ground clearance you feel good about, this approach will get things in the right neighborhood for you. I've thought worst case will be airbags to get it perfect if I don't like where it ends up.
My driveway is bad enough I need to stick with six or seven inches clearance or I'll never get in and out.
