Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 168 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 168 | Measure your front axle spring perch width. Starting in 55.2 through '91 all the chevy and gmc spring perch widths were 31.5-32".
If I'm not mistaken, the front axlle spring perch width on an AD truck is 26" or something like that because of the taper in the front frame and springs. All that to say, you probably won't find a bolt in Chevy axle unless it's an early NAPCO axle for AD trucks, and those aren't too easy to come by.
I've thought about this swap before for a '52 3100, and I was going to look into the wagoneer dana 44's. They are pretty narrow, and I think they would fit the truck pretty well, but I never went far with that idea, so I don't know how well they would fit.
Liquidated my projects Now looking for a decent '47-'55.1 3100, 3600, or 3800
