Someone took the neutral-safety-switch from under the steering column of my Powerglide 66' and clipped the connectors from the wiring harness before I purchased the truck. I was able to buy a new switch from NAPA but no connectors. It is my understanding that the switch performs two duties: it acts as a starter lock-out when in gear and as a backup-lamp switch when in reverse. My truck is a step-side and has no backup-lamps so I am only interested in the starter-lock-out feature.
The switch has two pairs of electrical prongs. In one pair, the blades are parallel to each other. In the other pair, they are at a right angle to each other. I would like to know which set of prongs are for the starter-lock-out and which are for the backup-lamps. I was able to find a connector on another wiring harness for the right-angle prongs but not for the parallel prongs.
Also, I have not been able to locate the neutral-safety-switch on any of my wiring diagrams so do not know how the switch is wired into the system.
Any help or suggestions would be welcome.
