I have a 69, C60, 24k gvw, 427, 5 speed/2 speed rear. It's not the prettiest truck yet but it's in great shape. I've been doing quite a bit of work to it to get it ready for the road. At most once it is all said and done I'll probably haul a max of 10-12k pounds or so. I would like to improve the ride quality unloaded but be able to maintain the capacity to haul what I need to. Currently it rides like it should but I would like to make it better. Has anyone pulled leafs from the spring packs at all 4 corners and added air bags to their truck? This seems like the simple solution and air wouldn't be a problem since I have air brakes with an engine mounted compressor.
I'm open to other options too and would like to hear some ideas if you have them. I'm a pretty handy fabricator with access to more tools and equipment than most.
