For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 1,904 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2001 Posts: 1,904 | I like the 4.10 I installed in my 3/4-ton but I still am comfortable with only 45-50 MPH. Driving the back roads to Portland might be OK and fun but I'd be scared with I-5.
I occasionally drive I-90 in MT at 50 MPH (speed limit 80, actual >>80) but I hang a blaze orange triangle in the back, turn on the flashers and spend most my time looking in the rear view mirror ready to dive to the right. What a guy doesn't do to get to his fishing spot. 1948 3/4-Ton 5-Window Flatbed Chevrolet 34 Years. Now with a '61 261, 848 head, Rochester Monojet carb, SM420 4-speed, 4.10 rear, dual reservoir MC, Bendix up front, 235/85R16 tires, 12-volt w/alternator, electric wipers and a modern radio in the glove box.
