I drew up a parking and tail light wiring diagram for the panel truck. (check attached)
While I was looking at the entire 1954 truck wiring diagram.
I was surprised to notice that there was no fuse for the front parking lights circuit.
There are fuses for the rear tail lights and stop lights.
GM must of decided that long run wires needed to be fused and not short run wires.
1947 May have a 5 fuse - fuse block: 1. Upper Beam, 2. Lower Beam, 3. Park, 4. Tail, 5. Stop
47 wiring diagram The headlight switch does have a thermostatic circuit breaker built in.
So there is some kind of circuit protection for the front parking lights.
I also didn't realize there was a separate terminal on the headlight switch just for front parking lights.
I thought the parking lights and the rear tails light were both connected to the same terminal.
Update: I redid the headlight switch in the wiring diagram, so it jives with the terminals on the 2nd photo headlight switch.
Update: 3rd photo shows added wiring for stoplight switch.
