I have a question related question to this discussion.
I'm assuming there must have been some type heat treat applied to that radius - in order to increase surface hardness and reduce wear.
Is there any concern about grinding through that layer and exposing softer metal? Or is the depth of the heat treat usually deep enough that this is not typically a concern?
Grinding rocker arms obviously works because people have been doing it forever, but the TM I have for the GMC 270 says to toss them if they are worn - not grind them.
Would be interested to hear your guys thoughts on this.
