I should know the answer, BUT. My 51 has a 54 235 in it, while trying to get her going I noticed the fuel hose from the pump to the carb was showing its age, so I pulled it off to get a measurement. When I got back from the parts store I discovered the gas was running straight thru from the tank. Is this normal or a sign of a bad pump? This is a plain pump, no vacuum port. Also, with the engine running, the fuel just trickles into the filter at the carb, making me wonder if the pump is weak. I wish I had paid more attention to what it did I parked it. John
