Welcome 'superav', Depending on how many pieces your '46 is in, it should not be to hard to put it together. Chevy/GMC is basically the same truck, different grille, engine, instruments... I have access to a lot of body parts for the '41-47 pickups, we have about six of them sitting up on our farm in Central Montana. The GMC engines were much better than the Chevy's, however, they can be expensive to work on. A more practical fix is to use a '63 or later 230/292 6 cyln. Most guys opt for a SBC, this can be problematic due to limited engine compartment space. Wm.
