My father had 70' GMC that was purchased in Arizona, the engine number was not on the title just the VIN. He had to make numerous trips to the DMV to get it straight. Here in Georgia you need only a bill of sale. For an older vehicle with no title only a State trooper or Deputy Sheriff need to verify the VIN. No issue after that, the State will produce you a new title with that VIN in your name.
