Food for thought. I lubed my hood hinges and springs on 51 Chevy 2dr sdn about 5 years ago. Cant remember what i used. Maybe wd40 or 30 weight, whatever. Well it worked, so good that the hood opens nice, quiet, and smooth. But now when fully opened it sags down just enough that the gouges on my head from the corners remind me how much i really didnt mind the stiff movement that kept the hood up a tad bit higher. Use caution....lol
