The timing ball aligns twice- - - -once when the #1 cylinder is ready to fire, and again when #6 is on TDC of the compression stroke. Remove the valve cover and watch the valve rocker arms on the #6 cylinder as you turn the crankshaft clockwise from the front. The last rocker in line back by the firewall should open and start closing. When the next valve in line starts to move, look at the distributor and use the spark plug wire the rotor is pointing toward as #1. Then follow clockwise with the rest of the wires- - -5-3-6-2-4. The engine should start and run.
