The 2 center outlets are on opposing banks so my guess is that's what generates the unusual sound. I don't think i've ever heard a split 6 but it seems everybody that does it loves it so i'm in. I saw a vette one at a local swap meet for $1000.00 CND. I think that would interfere with my shift box anyways. You can have it split with the heat box on either the front or rear outlet depending on clearance issues.
