I just put on a new 6 volt alternator on and connected the shot wire to the battery connection on the starter and the exciter to the hot side of the coil. I went for a decent ride and when I went to restate the battery was down. what is the best way to determine if the alternator is charging? 235 on a 48 Chevy. thanks.
