Thanks George. I'll check them out. Basically, today I removed the spider gears and side gears from the carrier. What I found was not pretty. The surfaces that the side gears and spider gears ride on are very heavily scored. At this point, I'm going to need to replace the carrier as well. Starting to look like I need to find another alternative to change out this differential to a more modern carrier and gears. Guess I'll continue the research. If anyone has any experience with installing a later model differential or carrier, into my 1942 10 bolt rear axle, I'd appreciate the advice. I'm open to nearly anything that allows me to keep my OE 6 lug artillery wheels. Has anyone installed a later model axle that allowed you to use the OE 41-46 6 lug wheels?
