I have found that when the E brake is applied in my new to me 1951 Chevy 4400, I can still rotate the propeller shaft by hand (rear axle on blocks and rear wheels off the ground) or turn the rear wheels by hand so the brake is not engaging. I have looked in the service manual and while they do have a few paragraphs on the brake with a photo, it just says to adjust it. The photo shows two adjustment locations id's as parts A,B,C and d but does not reference those lettered parts in the text. My guess is that I need to adjust the nut(s) on the larger vertical threaded rod to increase the brake shoe engagement. Am I guessing right? Thanks for the help!
