Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

I have had the transmission rebuilt and I am installing a new clutch. The Chevy manual for the 1951 with a 9 1/8" clutch instructs that an "x" on the clutch housing should be lined up with an "x" on the fly wheel. I cannot find an "x" on either part. I did find the "o" for the pressure plate installation and that is set up properly. Does it matter how I align the clutch to the flywheel? Unfortunately I did not mark the clutch housing or flywheel when I removed the clutch. Advise will be greatly appreciated. I get my transmission back Monday and hope to have the job completed that night. | | |
