Early 60's, probably not late 60's, could be. The 9" is a removable carrier type rear, as is the 8". The two lowest nuts that hold the center section in can't be removed with a socket,on the 9 incher, you must use a box end wrench. On the 8 incher a socket will go straight on the nuts. They look alike so check before you haul it out. If it's an 8", leave it there
