I’m trying to rebuild the carter from my 49 235. I ordered a rebuild kit from mikes carburetor and started taking it apart when the kit arrived. Then.... disassembly went smoothly until I tried removing the strainer plug under the float bowl. It absolutely will not budge I’ve been working on it for 3 days now and I’ve pretty much destroyed the slot. Tried heat and pb blaster knocking on it with a punch it just won’t move. Having the same problem removing the pump jet it will not move either. Any suggestions? I don’t know what to do at this point.
