I ruined a set of those hardened steel spring compressors.
Parallel to ground when at ride height is absolutely necessary. If you can't get it there (I know I'll have trouble too) than I suggest taking it to a shop (which I may do anyway). Hint - to get mine in we had to use the most outside coils - you may want to try again but move to the lowest coil possible.
Is all the weight on your truck (cab, motor, etc.)?
