A manual rack, like mine, might clear since it has less mass on that upper end, but I don't know if the angle is different. The claim that the mount is in the right place should be taken with a grain of salt. I'm no expert, but the existing arrangement casts doubts on this fellow's expertise. Try the engine in the chassis and see if the mount can be relocated. Also, I was looking at mine yesterday and the mount on the tubular x-member comes up more from below than from the side as on your truck. That may do the trick also.
